Yung V

Yung V, born Vanessa Hope Garcia Balanon, is a songwriter, singer, and instrumentalist currently in the

works from Berkeley, California. Though living her whole life in Fresno, California, Yung V was born in Monterey and has looked to the ocean as a symbol of life and constant transitioning, especially being
bought up by her Filipino immigrant parents.

Yung V’s wide range of music interests include alternative, jazz, indie, and R&B. Her influences
include, Jhene Aiko, Childish Gambino, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Blood Orange, Tyler, The Creator, Daniela
Andrade, Kehlani, Ruby Ibarra, Noname, The Internet, Rocky Rivera, Ari Lennox, and Hayley Kiyoko.

As a 19 year old, she collaborated with Savage Mind in their song “Sunny.”. Currently 20 years old, Yung V is paving her way with music, searching for her sound while songwriting here and there throughout her undergraduate years at UC Berkeley. She is looking forward to future gigs and songs to be made under Soul Vision.
